Five reasons to enter

01

Awards help you build the credibility of your business

Winning an award, and even appearing on an awards shortlist, will encourage prospective clients to take you seriously even before they dig deeper into your company’s background.

02

Awards give your business an edge

Awards increase awareness of your business while offering third-party validation and establishing market leadership. This, in turn, significantly bolsters your sales activities.

03

Awards boost the morale of your employees

Employees enjoy being part of a recognised team, and recognition from an outside source, such as a respected industry brand, will spur even more impact than internal recognition.

04

Awards attract talent to your business

A company’s success depends on its staff. Workforce retention can be an ongoing challenge. When candidates see that your company is ranked as an industry leader, you’ve made your business even more attractive to potential hires.

05

Awards secure valuable publicity for your business

Industry awards can be a valuable addition to your marketing arsenal. The publicity an award-winning business receives can result in more business and new connections, helping validate what your company does and increasing your visibility in the marketplace.

Entering the Energy Storage Investment Awards is simple:

Entries can be self-nominated or nominated by a third party.
Entering the Energy Storage Investment Awards is simple, these are the 3 steps;

1. Select the categories and register to enter

Upon selecting the categories you’d like to enter, you’ll be required to register on our system (Evalato). Please note that an email can only be used once, this is to avoid duplications. You can add and modify entries to your existing registration later on.

Once successfully registered, you’ll receive an email from awards@tamarindo.global with your PIN and a link to your applicant portal to access your entries.

2. Fill in the entry form via your online portal

You’ll need to complete an online form providing details of the company, team, individual, deal, or project for each of your entries. Entries can be saved as a draft, and you may continue working on your submissions later.

Entry forms have a limited number of characters/words allowed for each field. Please note that spaces count towards the character limit. We estimate that for a good-quality entry, you will need to invest approximately 4h in each of your entries. Please note that the judges’ scoring depends highly on the quality of the application, and its capacity to depict the work undertaken by the entity/project/person, therefore, it is really important that enough time is invested in the entry process.

3. Submit your entry

When you finish your entries, simply click submit.

Once an entry has been submitted, our team will contact you if more information is required before the judges begin their scoring.

You will be able to make edits to your entries at any point before the final deadline.

Entry Fees

To enter any of our awards programmes, there is an awards entry submission fee of £300 + VAT per entry. However, for the Energy Storage Investment Awards 2024, we have removed all award entry submission fees. We feel that this is another small way in which we can provide practical support for energy storage businesses, large and small and thereby ensure that everyone has the opportunity to be recognised and celebrated for their successes.
Please note that Tamarindo clients and members benefit from further discounts and preferential pricing for sponsorship and table purchase packages. Please enquire for full details.

Rules

  • Entries should relate to work undertaken between 1st January 2023 to 31st May 2024.
  • Entry questions vary depending on your chosen category, please take care when filling out the questions on each entry form. If the information provided is not relevant to the information requested, judges may, at their discretion, score the question with 0 points, or your entry may not be judged altogether.
  • Please ensure you read our terms and conditions before submitting an entry.

Recognising leading energy storage investment companies that have expanded their project portfolios in the past 12 months, through significant or noteworthy M&A transactions.

Have you expanded your energy storage investment portfolio through a noteworthy M&A deal? This category includes M&A deals related to both companies and projects.

Project Finance Deal of the Year

Technology Innovation Award

Recognising the technology innovators that are introducing fresh thinking and innovation to the energy storage market and, in doing so, are extracting more value from batteries and other energy storage assets and enabling the market to unlock future efficiencies. Ultimately those efficiencies must be geared around unlocking that future growth – either through cost reduction or scale. Judges are looking for the technology innovators approaching this challenge either from an engineering or digital/software perspective.

Does your company focus on improving the performance of planned, new or existing energy storage facilities? Did you come up with a product that will help reduce the costs of energy storage at a key area of a project lifecycle? Can you prove why your solution is vital to the energy storage market’s efforts to maximise project profitability? Judges are looking for a firm that is bringing digital innovations to the mainstream.

Have you, or a member of your team/business, achieved some fantastic, commercially focused, results, with just 5 to 10 years of experience behind them? Do you think that this individual has delivered over and above other professionals in the market who are at the same stage of their professional career, and can you point towards tangible examples of how they are doing exactly that? We are looking to showcase and celebrate that individual.

We are looking for a proven deal track record and clear market commitment to underscore a track record of meaningful and significant industry success.

Honouring innovative companies that are delivering successful energy storage investment strategies that support the renewable energy and clean technology transition.

Judges will assess entrants based on the impact they have on the three main pillars of ESG: environmental, social and governance.

Judging

Judging Process

Categories will be judged by a small group of judges and they’ll be assigned based on judges’ expertise and always avoiding any conflicts of interest. Judges will read and score their allocated entry forms, considering any supporting materials submitted. Judges will be asked to give a score for each question within the entry form. These will be combined to give an overall score for each entry. All judges’ scores will then be combined, and only the highest-scoring entries will determine the shortlists. Judges will e-meet to discuss the highest-scoring entries and then agree on the winner for each category. Judges may, at their discretion, award a high commendation on each category.

The shortlists will be announced on Monday 21st October. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Tuesday 3rd December.

Confidentiality & Impartiality

To ensure that our awards are impartial, ethical, and transparent, we ask that our judges sign a charter agreeing to:

  • dedicate sufficient time to reading, judging and scoring the entries
  • delete all judging materials and marks immediately after the judging period
  • declare any conflicts of interest
  • not allow personal relationships or experiences to influence judging
  • keep judging discussions confidential and contained only to the judging panel
  • not share confidential material, judging papers or entries with anyone
  • not notify anyone that they have won or that they are shortlisted ahead of the official announcements
  • not give any feedback to entrants as to why they have not won or were not shortlisted – all requests for feedback must be directed to Tamarindo.

Become a Judge

If you are an industry expert and have over 10 years of experience within the renewable energy space, we would welcome your application to join the Energy Storage Investment Awards 2024 judging panel.

Why judge?

Many of our judges have described it as the best CPD experience they get all year. By reading and scoring entries, you get exclusive insight into industry trends, the opportunity to review leading industry deals, and enjoy senior-level peer networking with fellow judges.

Judging isn’t for everybody. It involves at least a day of pre-judging followed by a 2-hour video conference judging session. However, many of our judges return year after year! As part of being a judge, you’ll be invited to attend the Energy Storage Investment Awards Gala dinner.

Judges also receive promotional assets to use on their profile and social channels and an opportunity to blog or contribute content across our extensive network.
