Expertise-Driven Judging

Each award category is evaluated by a carefully selected panel of judges, chosen for their expertise relevant to the specific category. To uphold fairness, judges are assigned entries where they have no conflicts of interest, ensuring impartiality at every stage.

Judges meticulously review and score each allocated entry, including any supporting materials submitted by entrants. They assign scores for every question in the entry form, which are combined to create an overall score for each submission. Once all scores are in, the highest-scoring entries form the shortlist.

Collaborative Decision-Making

Following the scoring process, judges convene virtually to discuss the shortlisted entries. This collaborative discussion enables the panel to reach a consensus on the winner for each category. Judges also have the discretion to award high commendations to entries that demonstrate exceptional merit but may not win outright.

Timeline and Transparency

  • Shortlists announced: Monday, 1st September

  • Winners revealed: Thursday, 6th November, at the awards ceremony

This timeline allows entrants and the industry at large to stay informed and engaged throughout the process.

Confidentiality & Impartiality: Our Core Principles

To ensure that our awards are impartial, ethical, and transparent, we ask that our judges sign a charter agreeing to:

  • dedicate sufficient time to reading, judging and scoring the entries
  • delete all judging materials and marks immediately after the judging period
  • declare any conflicts of interest
  • not allow personal relationships or experiences to influence judging
  • keep judging discussions confidential and contained only to the judging panel
  • not share confidential material, judging papers or entries with anyone
  • not notify anyone that they have won or that they are shortlisted ahead of the official announcements
  • not give any feedback to entrants as to why they have not won or were not shortlisted – all requests for feedback must be directed to Tamarindo.

This robust framework protects the integrity of the judging process and ensures every entrant receives a fair and unbiased evaluation.

Why This Matters

The Energy Storage Investment Awards are about recognising and celebrating outstanding achievements in energy storage development, investment and finance in the renewable sector. Our transparent and thorough judging process guarantees that those who are recognised have earned their place through merit and impact.

We’re proud of the professionalism and dedication our judges bring to the table and grateful to all entrants for sharing their inspiring achievements with us.
