Energy Transition Power List 2025

The 14th annual rundown of the 100 professionals leading the growth of renewables and storage.

About this report

This 14th edition of the Energy Transition Power List feature the top 100 individuals in the renewables industry in Europe and North America having the greatest impact on the energy transition.

The list features individuals that work in the wind, solar, energy storage and power-to-X sectors. Our focus is on companies that develop, enable and operate the renewable energy generation, storage and associated projects that are having the greatest impact on the market.

How we did it

This top 100 focuses on those who are impacting the energy transition in three ways.

First, by working on projects in multiple relevant sectors, or are working on hybrid schemes. This reflects the key role that physical infrastructure projects are playing in driving the global energy transition; the importance for companies to act in more than one sector to enable the transition; and the major challenges with project permitting, profitability and the supply chain.

Second, by working in key roles at companies that are influential in the energy transition, in terms of their financial performance, portfolio size and/or innovations.

Third, by making significant progress towards achieving their business goals, as well as the broader energy transition, with deals or project activity concluded in the last 18 months.

In addition, we focused on companies based in key markets in Europe and North America, but their operations do not need to be restricted to these regions; and we have continued to exclude lawyers and external advisors from this list in 2025. We believe this is the fairest way to recognise the success of companies investing in projects that make a difference. Our decisions are final.
