Aspiravi grows stake in 216MW Northwind to 70%

Belgian operator Aspiravi has agreed to grow its stake in the 216MW Northwind offshore wind farm to 70% by buying Parkwind’s share of the project.

Aspiravi was already the main shareholder in the scheme and has exercised its rights to buy the 30% stake that Parkwind owns in the project, following Parkwind’s takeover by Japanese utility JERA. Fellow Northwind shareholder Sumitomo decided not to exercise a similar right, so its stake in the scheme is set to remain at 30%.

The Northwind offshore wind farm in the Belgian North Sea has been operational since 2014.
