EDPR to sell stake in 297MW Alberta project

EDP Renewables is selling an 80% stake in its 297MW Sharp Hills wind farm in Alberta, Canada, to asset manager Connor, Clark & Lunn Infrastructure.

CC&L has agreed to pay around C$600m ($440m) for the majority stake in the project and investment tax credits associated with the scheme. Sharp Hills is due to be commissioned by the end of June 2024.

Sandhya Ganapathy, CEO of EDP Renewables North America, said: “The Sharp Hills project underscores our continuing commitment to invest in Alberta and contribute to its grid resiliency and energy security. We look forward to continued efforts focused on Canada’s energy transition.”

Matt O’Brien, president of CC&L Infrastructure, added: “We are excited to continue expanding our asset base and are actively pursuing further investment opportunities created by the increasing demand for renewable power and the broader energy transition that is underway.”
