EnBW’s Norseman won’t bid in Norwegian tender

March 8, 2024

German utility EnBW’s subsidiary Norseman Wind will not bid in the upcoming 1.5GW Sorlige Nordsjo offshore wind tender in Norway due to concerns about the regulatory framework.

Norseman is one of five pre-qualified bidders for the tender round, but it has said it has concerns about the requirements for EnBW to build and own the high-voltage interconnector; and limited state support. Its withdrawal echoes concerns about the process that fellow pre-qualified bidder Shell voiced last month.

EnBW added that it remains committed to the Norwegian market. Bidding in this 1.5GW tender round is due to take place on 18th March.
