Enefit Green buys 360MW Polish projects

Estonian developer Enefit Green has bought development rights for eight onshore wind projects totalling 360MW in Poland from RES Group’s Polish arm.

Enefit Green has bought the assets from RES Global Investment, and the pair are set to partner on their delivery. Andres Maasing, member of the board at Enefit Green, said the company has been looking for ways to grow its portfolio in Poland, where it has been operating since 2019.

He said: “In the current market situation, it is key to find opportunities for smart and sustainable business growth. Signed development service agreement provides a strong wind pipeline and growth opportunities for Enefit Green in Poland to achieve such a sustainable growth and build for a sustainable future.”

Construction on the projects is due to start in 2028 with the first scheduled to be operational in 2030.

Anna Kosińska, board member at RES Global Investment, said: “We find this transaction very important as this is the first deal with such a big portfolio after the new opening for the wind farm industry in Poland. The transaction is part of our wind portfolio expansion strategy, and we are very glad that we could make it with such a renowned investor.”
