Enova Power has ordered nine 7.2MW Vestas turbines for a 65MW repowering project in Meppen in Germany’s Lower Saxony region.

The Danish manufacturer is due to begin delivering turbines in the fourth quarter of 2025 and aims to commission the project by the end of March 2026. Vestas has also won a 25-year service agreement at the project.

Sulai Fahimi, vice president for sales central Europe at Vestas, said the deal showed the trust its customers had in its latest technologies: “Shaping the sustainable energy landscape for the region and for Germany in this first project with Enova makes me very proud and I am looking forward to the future collaboration.”

Hauke Bruemmer, chief executive of Enova Power, said this was the largest project in Enova’s 35-year history but added that the company was “far from finished” with its investment plans: “By 2026, we will invest approximately €600m in German onshore wind and thus continue to drive the growth of renewable energies in Germany,” he said.
