Swedish developer Eolus is buying the renewables arm of Finnish developer YIT in a deal that will bolster its development pipeline by 2.3GW.
Eolus has agreed to buy 100% of the shares in YIT Energy for €25m, of which €10m will be paid up-front and the remainder during 2024 and 2025. YIT Energy has a 2.3GW portfolio of projects including 1.1GW in advanced development, which is made up of 900MW of onshore wind and 200MW of solar.
