Fertiglobe wins 20-year German green ammonia tender

Chemicals group Fertiglobe has won a 20-year deal in Germany’s H2Global auction to supply green ammonia for use in European ports.

Fertiglobe is set to supply green ammonia from the Green Hydrogen Egypt project, which it is developing in partnership with organisations including Scatec and Orascom Construction. Fertiglobe is a strategic partnership between Abu Dhabi’s ADNOC and OCI.

The deal is set to be worth a maximum of €397m, and starts with the supply of 19,500 tonnes in 2027. This is set to rise to a total of 397,000 tonnes of green hydrogen by 2033.
