Firm Power gets green light for 420MW of Australian battery storage

Australian energy company Firm Power has received planning approval for the 170MW Beresfield and 50MW Awaba Batteries, completing all planning approvals for the Hunter Dispatchable Energy System’s (HDES) three sites.

The HDES is a distributed stand-alone battery system for the Hunter region in New South Wales, Australia.

The company has also received development approval for the 200MW Abermain Battery in South-East Queensland.

Firm Power has more than 3GWh of battery energy storage system projects in various stages of development.
