GE poised to cut 1,000 jobs at LM Wind Power

General Electric is mulling 1,000 job cuts at its turbine blade specialist arm LM Wind Power as it seeks to improve the profitability of its renewables operations.

The US conglomerate reportedly started considering the cuts in January 2024, but they have only just reached the public domain following an email to staff on 26th March. The downsizing programme could begin in the coming weeks.

LM is part of GE Vernova and was acquired by GE for $1.65bn in 2017.
