June 13, 2024

Ukrainian developer DTEK is collaborating with GE Vernova on energy projects in the European Union including wind farms and transmission lines.

The companies announced they have signed a memorandum of understanding to work on the projects at the Ukraine Recovery Conference yesterday. The development drive includes wind farms in Ukraine and the European Union, as well as supporting transmission infrastructure; upgrades to improve the resilience of Ukraine’s power grid; and additional schemes in Ukraine using open and combined cycle gas turbines.

The companies have previously partnered on projects including the 200MW Prymorska wind farm near Zaporizhzhia in Ukraine.

Maxim Timchenko, chief executive of DTEK, said: “GE Vernova and DTEK have a strong history together and I am confident that today’s agreement marks the start of a much broader relationship in Ukraine and across the EU – from grids and wind power to gas turbines and small modular reactors. Together our two companies can play a pivotal role in the urgent task of restoring Ukraine’s energy infrastructure today, while also creating a clean and resilient energy system for the future.”
