The German government has allocated €3.53bn funding for the country’s hydrogen import programme H2 Global.

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs & Climate Action announced the funding yesterday for its subsidiary Hydrogen Intermediary Network Company (HINT.CO), which is set to manage the H2 Global funding mechanism.

The funding in H2 Global is intended to support competitive bidding processes for the purchase and sale of green hydrogen and related products. This grows the total public capital committed to H2 Global to €4.73bn.
