Japan picks Iberdrola consortium for 375MW project

The Japanese government has picked a consortium of Iberdrola, Japan Renewable Energy and Tohoku Electric to develop a 375MW offshore wind farm in its waters.

The government announced today that it has selected the group to develop the project off the coast of Happo-Noshiro in Akita prefecture, northern Japan. Vestas is set to provide turbines for the project, which is due to be commissioned in 2029.
