Lithuania kicks off 700MW second tender

The Lithuanian government has kicked off its second offshore wind tender to find a firm to develop a 700MW project in the Baltic Sea.

Daiva GarbaliauskaitÄ—, Lithuania’s vice-minister of energy, announced that the country’s National Energy Regulatory Council plans to accept bids for the site off the coast of Palanga until 15th April, with a provisional winner due to be announced on 27th May. The winner is due to secure a 15-year contract from the Lithuanian government.

Ignitis Group and Ocean Winds won support for a 700MW project in Lithuanian waters in the country’s first offshore wind tender round in October 2023.
