Microsoft signs PPA at 30MW Irish scheme

Microsoft has agreed to buy electricity from the 30MW Lenalea wind farm owned by SSE Renewables and FuturEnergy in the Republic of Ireland.

The technology giant has signed a power purchase agreement to use all of the output from the scheme near Letterkenny in County Donegal to power its data centres. The company plans to run all of its data centres with renewable power by 2025.

FuturEnergy is a joint venture between Coillte and ESB.
