New Jersey approves 3.7GW offshore pair

Regulators in US state New Jersey has backed two offshore projects totalling 3.7GW in its latest offshore wind solicitation.

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities announced today that it has unanimously approved bids for the 2.4GW Leading Light Wind scheme, which is being developed by Invenergy and energyRe, and the 1.3GW Attentive Energy 2 project by TotalEnergies and Corio Generation.

Leading Light Wind won support of $112.50/MWh and is set to be built in two 1.2GW phases, which are due to be commissioned in 2031 and 2032 respectively. Attentive Energy 2 secured backing at $131/MWh, and it is also due to be commissioned in 2031.
