Polish utility PKN Orlen and Canadian firm Northland Power have taken a conditional investment decision for the 1.2GW Baltic Power offshore wind farm, and have placed an order for Vestas turbines.
Orlen owns more than 51% of the share of the project in the Baltic Sea, which is set to require total investment of €4.7bn. The partners are now securing other key component deals to take the project to final investment decision.
