Owners stop 160MW Odal Vind after blade fall

April 11, 2024

Akershus Energi, Cloudberry and KLP have stopped operations at their 160MW Odal Vind project in Norway after a blade fell off one of its Siemens Gamesa 4.X turbines.

The companies reported the “serious incident” at the project on the evening of 10th April, and said they were working to establish the cause. They added that nobody was hurt and they are working closely with the authorities, municipalities, police and other bodies.

This follows news last month that 15 of the project’s 34 turbines were out of action due to problems with their blades and other components. Odal Vind was commissioned in 2022.

The owners said they would release further information about re-starting the project in due course.
