Pattern Energy signs 150MW PPA with Hydro-Québec

Pattern Energy has signed a 30-year power purchase agreement to supply Hydro-Québec with electricity from its 150MW Broughton Wind project in Québec, Canada.

Pattern is developing the C$500m ($365m) scheme in a 50:50 joint venture with First Nations partners MRC des Appalaches, MRC de l’ Érable, Conseil des Abenakis d’Odanak, and Conseil des Abenakis de Wolinak. Construction is due to begin in 2028 with commissioning due in 2029.

Hunter Armistead, chief executive of Pattern Energy, said: “With 11 facilities and counting, Pattern is leading Canada’s renewable energy industry, building new ties with our Indigenous partners and supporting local communities. Broughton Wind is just another example of our commitment to Québec and Canada as we help power half a million Canadian homes.”
