Scout recycles capital at 130MW Bitter Ridge

US renewables operator Scout Clean Energy has concluded a back-leverage financing transaction at its 130MW Bitter Ridge wind farm in Indiana.

The project has been operational in Indiana’s Jay County since 2020 and Scout said the deal is part of its capital recycling strategy. The company is looking to unlock capital from its operating projects to invest in new developments in its 19GW pipeline of US wind, solar and storage projects.

John Clapp, chief financial officer at Scout, said: “We are pleased to continue to leverage innovative long-term financing structures in our operational portfolio… This financing is the first of many that will further strengthen the build out of our impressive development pipeline.”
