Sineng to integrate Onsemi tech into solar-storage offering

May 17, 2023

Chinese electronic product manufacturing company Sineng Electric is to integrate Onsemi EliteSiC silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFETs and IGBT [insulated-gate bipolar transistor]-based high-density power integrated modules (PIMs) into its utility-scale solar inverter and 200kW energy storage system.

MOSFETs are metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistors, most commonly manufactured by the controlled oxidation of silicon

Sineng’s work with onsemi EliteSiC has led to the launch of a utility-scale solar string inverter, which, it says, offers “reduced maintenance costs and lower downtimes compared to a centralized inverter solution”.

The two companies expect to extend their existing long-term supply agreement, signed in late 2022, a statement said.
