Six bidders target 3.6GW Taiwan tender

April 11, 2024

Six companies have submitted bids in Taiwan’s round 3-2 offshore wind tender, where the government is looking to award support for projects totalling up to 3.6GW.

This tender is the second phase of Taiwan’s third offshore wind allocation, and has attracted bidders including Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, Corio Generation and Synera Renewable Energy (formerly Swancor).

Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs has not confirmed the full list of bidders, but it is thought to also include EnerVest, Ørsted and Shinfox.

The ministry plans to award support for projects with headline capacity of between 500MW and 900MW each. It is due to reveal the results of the tender in late May or early June.

Iberdrola and Taiya Wind Energy announced shortly before the close of bidding yesterday (10th April) that they would not be participating.
