May 15, 2024

Norwegian utility Statkraft has hired Rothschild to advise on the sale of assets from Enerfin worth around €500m.

Statkraft agreed to acquire Elecnor subsidiary Enerfin in November 2023 for €1.8bn, and the deal is due to close by the end of June 2024. Statkraft now plans to sell assets, including wind farms, in Australia and Canada.

In Australia, the company plans to sell 1.5GW of wind and 200MW of solar projects, which are mostly in the early phases of development; and, in Canada, it is looking to sell almost 1.2GW of assets including a 100MW operational wind farm.

Statkraft is also planning to exit Enerfin investments in Colombia and the US, but these are not included in the current programme.
