Suzlon director quits board over governance concerns

Marc Desaedeleer has resigned from the board of directors of Indian turbine maker Suzlon citing concerns about corporate governance and transparency.

Desaedeleer stepped down from the position on Saturday (8th June) because he said corporate governance standards at the company did not meet his expectations, and particularly highlighted a lack of openness and transparency in communications.

Suzlon said it “sincerely appreciates the support extended by Mr. Marc Desaedeleer to the Company” during his employment. J.P. Chalasani, chief executive at Suzlon, said in an analyst call that the issues raised were process-oriented and “soft”.
