Valorem enters Sweden with 1GW Tribrid tie-up

French operator Valorem has entered Sweden by partnering with local firm Tribrid Renewables to develop 1GW of wind and solar projects in the country.

Valorem has been active in Finland since 2010 and is currently developing 1.5GW of projects in the country. It said teaming up with Tribrid would consolidate its presence in the Nordics.

Philippe Tavernier, chief operating officer at Valorem, said it wanted to collaborate to “meet the strong demand for electricity expected in Sweden over the next few years”.

He added: “We are proud to be taking an active role in the country’s energy transition. We will contribute to develop competitive, local and reliable renewable energy in close cooperation with local communities.”

Carl-Christian Bohl, chief executive and partner at Tribrid, said: “Our company is committed to facilitating the transition of innovative industries and sectors to renewable energy sources to meet their growing energy needs… Together [with Valorem], we will develop competitive projects with a clear innovative edge providing numerous economic benefits for the region.”
