Voltalia has agreed to sell two wind farms totalling 33.1MW in France to a joint venture between the government of Monaco and Engie-backed utility Société Monégasque de l’Electricité et du Gaz (SMEG).

Monaco Energies Renouvelables is a tie-up between SMEG, in which Engie owns a 64% stake alongside the state of Monaco (20%) and EDEV (15%), and the Monaco government. The company has agreed to buy the 23.1MW Sarry and 10MW Molinons wind farms in France’s Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region from operator Voltalia.

This deal grows MER’s operational solar and wind portfolio to 163MW. MER was supported by Finergreen, Pinsent Masons and Numa Avocats.
