Jing Liu

Jing Liu is the Head of Power & Renewables (EMEA) at SMBC. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the banking sector focusing on structured finance, acquisition finance and advisory services. He has been with SMBC since 2015.

Jing has built the industry leading power & renewables team, which has financed more than 45 gigawatts renewable projects in the EMEA enough to supply clean energy to over 51 million households in the region, which is critical for the region’s energy transition. In addition to renewable projects, Jing has led the team assisting clients in utilities, energy storage, power, and transmission in the region.

Jing’s team has supported clients in almost all UK offshore wind projects and various European wind projects. Most recently, SMBC is one of the first banks pushing into Polish offshore wind market and one of the very few banks which have supported all Polish offshore wind projects.
