Sophie Irvine

Sophie Irvine is VP, Head of Renewables, based in London, with more than 20 years of experience in the London insurance market. Sophie began her career underwriting upstream and midstream oil and gas risks before transitioning to the renewable energy sector in 2019. Today, Sophie leads a team of renewable energy underwriters while also underwriting complex construction and operational risks across wind, solar, hydro and battery energy storage projects. Sophie’s focus includes portfolio management, natural catastrophe exposures, technology performance, contractor risk and emerging loss trends. Sophie works closely with brokers, developers, investors and lenders to support renewable energy assets worldwide.
