As a specialist underwriter, GCube often works with its insured clients via the intermediary of an insurance broker. To address the potential disconnect in client relationships this might cause, GCube tasked Tamarindo to create a programme of events where the underwriter could directly connect with brokers and clients.
Recognising the clear opportunity to leverage GCube’s risk insights to create a long term mechanism for relationship building and information sharing, Tamarindo put forward a proposal for a bi-annual calendar of events comprising Risk Seminars in Europe – focussing on specific industry risks – and Advisory Councils in the US, which looked at market developments impacting project development.
The programme began in 2012, and Tamarindo has supported GCube with each event in three distinct ways. Firstly, its communications team creates an agenda that is aligned to the key themes and topics in play in current industry policy, market development, and the media. Secondly, its membership team find relevant and engaging speakers from within its network to provide third-party perspectives for presentations and roundtables. And thirdly, Tamarindo’s events business provides all necessary event management services – including venue hire, logistics, AV, catering and entertainment.
This fully joined-up service offering has enabled GCube to provide compelling and engaging events to its clients and future new business prospects for over ten years. GCube’s events are frequently cited as a key milestone for client relationship renewal and an important conduit for sharing commercially useful information on technology, market or natural risks.
In 2023, Tamarindo has supported GCube with a Risk Seminar in Madrid – encompassing topics such as green hydrogen project development, energy market risks, and innovation in insurance products and services. In October 2023, Tamarindo will support GCube with its 21st client event, as the US Advisory Council takes place in California.
The long-term success of the programme in bolstering existing, and helping to secure new, commercial relationships has ensured that the initiative will continue with Tamarindo’s support into the future.
