However, to unlock the next phase of its growth – and, ultimately, prepare for its acquisition by a major global engineering company – it needed to refocus on its core services and identified strengths, while tapping into new opportunities in target regions. To support this, K2M engaged Tamarindo to develop and deliver a strategic PR campaign, building on an existing media presence, but designed to bring more specific focus to its core target customers and markets. This media campaign had two principal objectives:
Tamarindo and K2M quickly established a highly productive press office, based on a drum beat of regular commercial announcements, combined with profiling of senior executives in the international energy and financial media. Over the course of a four-year working relationship, media highlights included regular coverage of K2M news and analysis across the global renewable energy trade media, a sought-after monthly guest slot on Windpower Monthly’s News Review podcast, and a variety of top-tier newswire and national coverage spanning Europe and APAC – including Reuters, Bloomberg, the Financial Times and the South China Morning Post. Combined, these results enabled K2M to hone its image and expand its reach on the global stage. In 2025, the business was acquired by major offshore wind consultancy Rambøll, entering the next chapter of its international expansion. |
